KNKX
KNKX serves as the Pacific Northwest’s premier source for jazz, blues, NPR content, and regional news, operating a network of 12 radio signals that reach from the coast to the Cascades. The station’s programming staff crafts compelling stories that authentically capture local voices, while their global jazz service, Jazz24, reaches hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners across 150 countries.
Following a remarkable community-driven campaign to preserve the station in 2016, KNKX transitioned from its former identity as KPLU to become an independent public radio station. The new name, representing “Connects,” reflects its mission to inspire, educate, and unite listeners throughout the region, with support coming primarily from its dedicated listener community.
